What do I have to supply my child to play?
Your child will need a glove, a jock/jill personal protection, running shoes or baseball cleats (rubber cleats only for Tball - Peewee, Bantam/Midgets can use rubber or metal), a helmet. Should your player have their own bat they can use it, if not there are bats available for use.
What does Fort McMurray Minor Baseball supply?
Your child will be given an individual team jersey (to be returned to FMMBA at the end of season), individual team baseball cap, individual baseball pants, and belt. The team will have team equipment that includes balls, bats, catcher's gear, bases, and first aid kit.
What is the cut off date for the age categories?
The players birth year determines the age category.
What if my child would like to play at a higher, more competitive level?
FMMBA has Competitive Teams in Mosquito, Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels. Players must attend tryouts and must be selected to play on a Competitive or Performance team.
Can my child play on the same team as their friend?
At the House League level all ball players will be evaluated, attempting to make teams as even as possible. Evaluators will try to respond to requests for players to be with friends, but there is no guarantee that this will be possible. Player requests have to be done during registration and the request must be on both registrations.
How will I be contacted for start dates and information for the season or tryouts?
You can expect Player evaluations in early April. Information will be sent out by email as well as on the website and facebook. Once teams are selected, your child's coach will get in touch to provide start dates. The season starts the beginning of May.
Can girls play baseball?
