Position: Technical Director
Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association

This Technical Director role is a full-time position, overseeing development and leading the direction of the association. Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association has over 780 young people in the community. This includes the Challenger baseball program, House league, and competitive travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide year round technical and professional instruction
- Identify potential provincial and national tournament hosting opportunities for the association
- Mentoring and overseeing coaching staff, this includes house league and competitive.
- Supervise, but willing to support general field maintenance as requested at any of the field facilities.
- Create post-secondary baseball opportunities for players through their network of contacts.
- Prepare scouting packages
- Facilitate coaching NCCP Coach Certification of local
- Plan and execute a Winter Baseball Program for players ranging from the ages of 4-18
- Be available and visible supporting our house league programs, providing mentorship to parent coaches.
- Work with the association to develop and implement a coach development plan for local
- Promote the game of baseball and the association in local elementary and middle schools, willing to travel to rural communities in the area.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Baseball Coach or Director of Baseball Academy. 5 years minimum of Coaching College Level. Playing or Coaching Professionally.
Degree in Sport or Recreation Management, or related degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate will need a passion for the game of Baseball to share with our local players and coaches. Must have strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
Have proven ability in baseball program development, administration, and delivery. Must have good organizational skills including working on a computer such as Microsoft office programs.
Applicant should be cleared to work in Canada and travel outside the country.
Compensation
Competitive salary between $70,000 to $90,000 will be offered, based upon qualifications and experience. This is a full-time year-round position, must be open to working flexible hours including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate, if they aren’t already local to Fort McMurray, must be willing to re-locate.
